“Education begins the moment we see children as innately wise and capable beings. Only then can we play along in their world.”
— Vince Gowman
In the Early Childhood Education field, I found my true calling: fostering the growth and development of young children through engaging and enriching educational experiences. It's fascinating to watch them grow and triumph! I believe in creating inclusive and supportive learning environments that cater to the unique needs of every child. My favorite part about teaching is social-emotional curriculums, play-based learning, and practicing positive guidance. The first years are incredibly crucial and so much fun! Over the last decade, I've worked in various educational settings: daycares, at-home nannying, 4-H Camp and a 4-H after-school program. As the oldest sibling of five younger brothers, caregiving has always been a part of my life. My pivotal moment came in 2021, while working in a preschool in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, when I realized this was the field I wanted to dedicate myself to. I hold an Occupational Proficiency Certificate in Early Childhood Education from Colorado Mountain College, and am currently a full-time student working towards my degree in Early Childhood Education.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, concerts, hiking, camping, soccer, rock climbing, and I'm currently learning how to mountain bike! I love living in Colorado and exploring all it has to offer. I grew up in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, and Bethel, Maine. I try to visit back East every year, but my heart is here.
