'Tis the Season for Sweaters and Sniffles!
- Fall is here!! Please make sure you bring clothing to prepare for Colorado's CRAZY fall weather. Please ensure your kiddo has proper rain attire, jackets, gloves, hats, etc. at school. Having fully prepared kiddos will allow all classes to embrace the opportunity to explore and play in all types of weather!
- Please label EVERY item of clothing with your student's first AND last name to help our teachers and students keep track of their belongings 🙂
- We encourage families to provide winter gloves (waterproof gloves) rather than cloth gloves/mittens so that your students can enjoy the rain without getting their hands wet and cold!
- Here is a cost effective option that we highly recommend during the colder wet months to help keep your kiddo dry. If you would like to purchase one to leave at The Barn, they do run big so we can buddle your kiddo underneath! This can be used as a rain suit and snow suit and is cheaper that most snow gear, so check it out and see if this option is right for you and your family!
- Snowy Season Prep: Snow is on its's way and in preparation, we wanted to share our inclement weather closure policy form our handbook:
8.2 | Inclement Weather Policy
To ensure the safety of our families and staff, The Big Red Barn follows the Jeffco Public School System for any school closure during inclement weather conditions. The Big Red Barn reserves the right to determine closures they deem necessary in the interest of child and staff safety. If the school closes, parents will be notified using the BrightWheel Application.
Below is our schedule for the following weather-related events*:
- For Jeffco Public School weather closures, The Big Red Barn will remain closed.
- For Jeffco Public School weather related delayed start, The Big Red Barn will open at 9:00 am.
- For Jeffco Public School weather related early release / cancelation of after-school programs, The Big Red Barn will close at 3:30 pm.
- It's Flu Season! Please help keep our BRB Family safe and healthy!
- If your kiddo comes down with a sickness please keep them home for 24 hours after their last symptoms. If your student has a fever or has thrown up/had diarrhea prior to their arrival at school, please KEEP THEM HOME! We appreciate all your effort in helping us keep our kiddos healthy!
