November is a month that reminds us to be grateful for all that we have and this year there is definitely a lot to be grateful for! Not only are we coming up on our 1st Anniversary of operation, but we also have an exciting expansion on the horizon! This year has flown by and so many core memories have been created here at The Barn. It has been so refreshing to watch families create lasting friendships and the community I once dreamt about for The Barn is truly coming to life thanks to you all! So here is to a month of gratitude!

Updates:

• Our 1st Annual Oktoberfest and Chili Cook Off was amazing due to your parent participation! Thank you for spending a Saturday with us. I am not sure about you, but there is no place I would rather be on a Saturday than being surrounded by my Big Red Barn Family!
  • Drumroll please🥁....... Congrats to the Wiles family for taking 1st place🏆 in our Chili Cook Off 🥳 Coming in second place we have the Wolfe family! Thank you to everyone who participated, we ended up having 9 chilis, you all are truly amazing🙌
  • Also a big shout out to Patrick Young for brewing up the goods, the Horchata Beer was a hit!🍻
• Thank you all for your donations to our Big Red Barn clothing drive! It takes a village to raise kiddos, and you all have created the perfect village to be apart of❤️
• A big THANK YOU to the Pump-Bakken Family for bringing in an old firetruck this month for our students to get a hands on experience learning about firefighting🚒👨‍🚒🧯
• Trunk-Or-Treat🎃 was also a blast! Thank you to all the families who participated, the creativity was out of this world!
  • Please also vote on your favorite teacher costume using this survey! Winners will receive a prize so make sure to cast your vote!

• Parent Teacher Conferences are just 2 days away! We are so excited to share with you all what your students have been accomplishing and to spend some quality teacher-parent time together. Teamwork makes the dreamwork and there is nothing more important to us than being on the same page when it comes to your kiddos development! Ms. Soraya will be visiting to hangout with your kiddos during your conference time, so do not worry about trying to find a babysitter!
• Parents Night Out for November will be on Saturday 11/23 from 4-8 pm, dinner will be provided! Sign up here
• Thanksgiving Classroom Parties🦃 will be on November 27th at 3:30 pm, parents are invited and you won't want to miss this one! We will be hosting a Thanksgiving Feast🍗, but sensory edition👃🤚👁️👂🍴! Get ready to get messy in a mashed potato sensory bin, or get your noses ready to guess your favorite Thanksgiving scents! This may go down as the best Thanksgiving Party yet so make sure to get it on your calendars!
• We will be CLOSED on Thursday November 28th and Friday November 29th for Thanksgiving. We will see you all back for normal operating hours on Monday December 2nd!

Expansion? What Expansion?!

We are so excited to announce that The Big Red Barn is expanding! I am overwhelmed with excitement and gratitude as we embark on the expansion and honestly can not thank you all enough. Without your kind words on our Google Reviews, references to friends and family, and just your overwhelming support throughout this last year, this would have never been possible. Because of the support of everyone here we have 177 families on our waitlist, that is 177 families looking for The Big Red Barn Difference! As we are in the beginning stages of expansion, we do not yet have a concrete opening date, we are hoping to open in the New Year. This expansion will be an infant only expansion as we open The Little Red Barn Nursery🥰 This location is just 2 minuets west of The Big Red Barn and will act as a feeder school for our current location.

The Little Details:

The Little Red Barn will consist of 2 infant rooms, a non-mobile and mobile classroom, both of which will be smaller class sizes and will have even lower teacher to student ratios! With 7 students in each class compared to our current 8 and 2 teachers we are look at a ratio of 1:3.5 which means MORE one-on-one time with our infants and LESS teacher burnout! We are so excited to offer an infant only program where we can solely focus on ages 6 weeks to 18 months old!

What About The Big Red Barn?

Great question! Our current infant room at The Big Red Barn will be relicensed for toddlers, so not only are we opening more infant spots for our community, but more toddler spots as well! This will significantly help as previously we only had room for 5 toddlers.

Action Items:

Now that the expansion is official, there are a few things we need from our current families:

1. If you have any siblings that you would like to get enrolled at The Barn, now is the time! Please reach out to admin to make sure we have all your information on our priority waitlist so we can get the enrollment process started
2. If you are wanting to change your schedule (Fulltime, M/W/F, or T/TH) now will be a great time for us to try to accommodate these. Many families have previously reached out wanting a schedule change, so we do have those recorded, but please let us know if anyone would like to go from full time to part time, part time to full time, or change their part time days. There is no guarantee we will be able to accommodate everyone, but with this transition we will have a lot of flexibility and will try our best to get everyone what they need!
3. CURRENT INFANT FAMILIES - Ashley will be at everyone's parent teacher conference to answer any questions and go through what changes this may mean for you

One Last Announcement:

I am honored to announce that Ms. Dom will be taking over the Director role at The Little Red Barn Nursery. Ms. Dom was made for this role and after being an infant teacher for 4 years, an Infant Nursery Supervisor for 3, and The Big Red Barn's Assistant Director for the past year, she is finally ready to take the reigns herself! She is so excited to be taking this next step, and with Ms. Dom running things, you can guarantee the infant program will continue to thrive in a new location. Please help us welcome her into this new role, and feel free to stop by the infant room at any time for a quick congratulatory hug (or fist bump if you more into that😂)

We said our goodbyes to Mr. Brandon and Ms. Daisy this month. While we will miss them and are wishing them well, we also are excited to see where they go from here!❤️

 

Ms. Alicia is officially Director Qualified🥳 So what's next? Alicia is going to continue her education in coaching/mentoring and will begin her practice inside our Big Red Barn classrooms!
