Welcome to October, Parents!
As the crisp autumn air rolls in and the days get shorter, October brings a perfect opportunity to embrace change and growth with our little ones. This month is full of exciting opportunities to celebrate the season—whether it's cozy family activities, fall crafts, or preparing for Halloween fun. Let’s make October a month of beautiful memories!

Updates:

• Grandparents Day TEA PARTY Celebration was SO FUN! 🍵🫖👴🏼👵🏼 The students definitely loved showing their grandparents their home away from home!
• Check out our monthly blogs on our website! Last months blog was about - Instilling Positivity Around School and Guiding Your Child Through Fears Using Conscious Discipline Strategies, you can read it here!
• For the entire month of October, we will be doing a BRB Kids Clothing Drive!
  • We will be accepting gently used children clothing, shoes, hats, ect!
  • We will accept all season clothing but we are currently looking for fall & winter attire! 
  • Clothing will be separated by size and displayed for families to go through during our Parent Teacher Conferences on Sunday Nov. 3rd!

• Join us for our first ever OKTOBERFEST | CHILI COOK OFF
  • Mark your calendars for Saturday October 12th at 3:30pm, as we kick off the fall season with a fun-filled day of delicious food, BRB community, and a friendly competition! Whether you're a chili connoisseur or just looking to enjoy some Oktoberfest inspired festivities, this event has something for everyone! 
  • Bring your best chili recipe or come to taste and vote for your favorite while enjoying seasonal treats, music, and great company! Sign up using this link!
  • Patrick Young (Duckling Dad) is the Head Brewer at Raices Brewing Company and will be providing us with some tasty brews 🍻🌶️
• Parents Night Out for October will be on Friday 10/25 from 6-10pm, dinner will be provided! Sign up here
• 🎃 Trunk - or - Treat 🍭🍬 Thursday October 31st, 3:30pm
  • Parents, we need your help to make this spooktacular event a success! We’re looking for volunteers to decorate their car trunks with fun, kid-friendly designs—think pumpkins, superheroes, or favorite cartoons! No haunted houses here—just smiles and lots of candy! 🍬👻 It's a great way to get creative and celebrate with our little ones in a safe, fun environment. Ready to join the fun? A message from the Rudersdorf-Young family,

Hi, my name is Grace Rudersdorf Young, and my son, Ronan, is in the Ducklings classroom. I’m so incredibly grateful to be part of the BRB community. Not only are the teachers and staff amazing but I love that BRB is a small, woman-owned business like my own. I own Golden Hill Family Dentistry, a small private dental practice just two minutes west of BRB. We pride ourselves on treating patients like family and offering comprehensive care for all ages. We'd love to opportunity to welcome any BRB families to our practice and are happy to offer a complimentary first appointment for all BRB kiddos! 🪥🦷

🌼Raising toddlers is like trying to negotiate with tiny drunk people. They stumble, they babble, and they have very strong opinions about which color cup they absolutely need today. But between the snack demands and the random meltdowns, you’ll catch glimpses of pure genius, like when they use a sock as a hat or try to 'share' with the dog. Early childhood—where the chaos is real, but so is the love (and the crumbs)! 🌼

Staffing Updates

• Ms. Jayna is on a leave of absence and will hopefully be back come the New Year!
• We sent Ms. Gemini off with lots of love to start her new position as a Kindergarten teacher!
• We have a new addition to the The Big Red Barn Family! Ms. Emily has started with us, helping a lot in Porcupettes, but as always you can expect her to be hands-on in all classrooms! Read more about Ms. Emily here!

Meet Brice!

Hello! My name is Brice and I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with Positive Behavior Supports Co. (PBS). I provide behavior analytic services (ABA) to children, teens, and adults with varying intellectual disabilities. I prioritize compassionate and trauma-informed care. I have a passion for education and supporting in related environments and I am so excited to work with The Big Red Barn Early Learning Center. You can learn more about my company and what I do at. Meet Natalie!

Natalie Bowman, founder of  Brainstorm Therapy Services to offer free screenings for speech and language development at our school! As a licensed speech language pathologist, she will be completing screenings with children of interested families. Whether you are concerned about your child’s development or just want to be sure that they’re meeting their speech and language milestones, we encourage all families to participate! For children who qualify, therapy services will be conveniently provided at our school – no need to travel after school or work to make it to another appointment!
