Welcome to Clyde’s Corner
Happy February! Our first full month is in the books. What a whirlwind time we are having. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful team, who is committed and excited about each and every day. Thank you all so much.
How Are All Of You Doing?
Please let us know if you need anything, have any ideas or concerns. Please feel free to talk to any of the admin, we are always here for you.
Let’s Get to Know Each Other!
There will be a box/tub on the staff break table and a stack of cards for you to write down 3 things we do not know about you. Then we will draw one card a week and do a “who is this” on Group me. If someone guesses you, please let us know. Then if anyone wants to ask questions about what someone wrote down they will ask you to explain. For example: someone writes down that they 1. Own a ferret 2. Has a belly piercing 3. Has climbed Mt. Everest. Once someone guesses who wrote these then someone can ask a question like, “when did you climb MT. Everest?” If you have any questions please ask anyone on the admin team.
A few reminders:
- Valentines Day Classroom Parties will be happing on Wednesday February 14th! From 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Parents will be encouraged to attend!💖
- Handwashing – Please make sure to continue to wash hand with the kiddos all throughout the day. This helps reduce the spread of germs and keeps everyone healthy.
- Great news!!! We will begin to roll out our extracurriculars this month.
- FINALLY!! Rowdy roosters is opening on the 12th and WELCOME Ms. Jenny who will be starting on Feb. 5th and will be teaching Rowdy Roosters 🐓
- The Speech therapy screenings will be on Feb. 9th with Natalie
- Gemini and Beth will be working together and completing Teacher Observations on Feb. 9th. Going forward, Gemini will be completing observations regularly in the classrooms looking for and adding support with FrogStreet and CD!
- Along with wearing The Big Red Barn shirts Monday through Thursday you may also wear Faith based shirts. 🙏😇
- Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Sunday March 24th, time is still TBD.

Just A Few Things
Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend
Welcome back Ashley! We hope you had an AMAZING time on your Honeymoon! 
I wanted to share a few things with everyone:
- I shared the employee calendar with you. Please let me know if you have any trouble accessing it. It is also linked here for your convivence! This will be the go to for any events, observations, curriculum supply due dates, planned visitors, ect. We want you ladies to be aware of what is happening in our school! 🙂 *Items on the calendar are your responsibility to know about.*
- Staff Snacks – We will be stocking the fridge and snack bucket every Monday for the entire week! Please be considerate of others and please don’t pull from backstock.
- You are expected to be in your room ready to go at your scheduled time. You may clock in 5 minutes early so you can be ready to go. That goes for everyone (openers, mid-shifts, and closers).
- Cleaning – We should be cleaning our rooms throughout the day. Cleaning throughout the day will help you or your closer get through closing duties more efficiently.
- Tables get cleaned before and after snack, lunch, after art and sensory play, and at the end of the day.
- When there is food on the floor please sweep it up.
- After disinfecting sinks and toilets please wipe them down, if not they leave water marks and give a dirty appearance.
- Toys – Sanitize your toys at the end of everyday (When I was a teacher, I’d do it during nap time as well to help limit illnesses/germs in the classroom 😉 )
- Wooden toys DO NOT get sent down for deep cleaning. They will get water damaged.
- For a deep clean, lay pieces out a towel at closing, wipe them down and give them a good spray with sanitizer, leave them out to air dry
- After diapering/potty you and the kids MUST wash hands.
- Sweep your floors. It is not enough to just vacuum, the vacuum does not pick everything up.
- Make sure your room is stocked for the next day (gloves, paper towels, tissue, ect.).

Dive Deeper into Conscious Discipline!
Hello!
Denver’s Early Childhood Council is offering a FREE Conscious Discipline course!
I am currently signed up for this course! There are only three sessions that will take place every other Wednesday starting March 20th from 6:00-8:00pm.
I am super excited to learn more about how to practice and implement Conscious Discipline in our classrooms. Please let me know if you are interested in taking this course as well, we can get you registered!

Welcome to Clyde’s Corner and Happy New Year!
What a wonderful first two weeks we have had! Everyone was on top of everything. Thank you for working with the craziness of trying to get everything figured out so opening day was perfect. Spirit week was awesome due to the wonderful participation you all put into it! We could not have done it without each and everyone of you.
A few reminders for when we get back in January:
- Frog Street curriculum will start January 2nd. Please make sure you have your teaching plans ready to go.
- Since we are starting our regular program please stick as close as possible to the schedule for your classroom.
- Just a reminder that snacks are only for the children who are present at snack time.
- Please make sure you wipe down the sinks at night after spraying with disinfectant. You may have to scrub a little as there are lots of spots and streaks. They just look dirty if we do not wipe them down well enough.
- Please when wearing your Big Red Barn shirts make sure that they are visible. These are to be worn Monday through Thursday.
- PLEASE, PLEASE! Make sure when using the doors in the basement that you LOCK them behind you.
