Welcome to Clyde's Corner
June is the month of Potential, half of the year is behind us and the other half is waiting to be written.

Monthly Updates:
- Our Annual Licensing Visit is scheduled to be sometime THIS MONTH! Please be prepared and always know your numbers! Please ask admin if you have any questions about this process.
- Music
- We have noticed an increase in inappropriate music being played in the classroom. Please ensure that all music played during the day is age-appropriate and suitable for young children.
- If you would like to play pop, R&B, or other popular genres, please use the Kidz Bop versions. Disney music, children's music, and instrumental versions of songs are also great options.
- Please refrain from playing K-Pop Demon Hunters as some families have expressed concern that the movie is not age appropriate and some families do not want their kiddos watching it.
- Splash Days will begin this month! The 1st one is this Thursday the 11th! Below is the schedule and what we are asking parent's to prepare their children in prior to drop off. All sunscreen must be applied no later than 15 min before heading outside to allow it time to soak in!
- Parent's please send:
- A bag for wet clothes and towels
- Water shoes
- An extra change of clothes for after splash day
- Swim diaper for children still in diapers

- What does outside active supervision mean?
- Stay actively engaged and aware of children at all times while outdoors.
- Position yourself where you can easily view all areas of the playground and grass area. (this is not social hour)
- Continuously scan the environment to ensure children are safe and supported.
- Move throughout the playground to maintain visibility and connect with children in different areas.
- Engage with children through play, conversation, and encouragement while maintaining awareness of the entire group.
- When two teachers are outside:
- Communicate and work together to ensure all areas of the playground are supervised.
- One teacher may choose to engage more directly in play while the other circulates throughout the playground.
- Both teachers should remain attentive to the children and their surroundings
- When supervising independently:
- Continue moving throughout the playground to maintain visibility of all children.
- Check in regularly with children across different play areas.
- Know your count
- At any point during the day, you should be able to immediately provide the number of children in your classroom or group. Frequent name to face should be conducted throughout the day, especially during transitions, when moving between locations, and before and after outdoor play.
- In addition to knowing your count, it is equally important to know the whereabouts of every child in your care. There should never be a time when a child’s location is unknown. Consistently scanning the environment, maintaining active supervision, and communicating with your co-teacher helps ensure that all children are accounted for and safe.
- Hiring
- We are actively hiring at all three locations and have a referral incentive to hopefully encourage you all to bring some amazing people on board! If you refer a friend that we hire, and if they hit their 90 day mark, you will receive a $100 bonus! If your friend is lead qualified, you will receive a $200 bonus and your friend will receive $100 upon their 90 day. This referral program begins today, so please let us know if you have anyone in mind!
- Hair
- When helping children with their hair, please ensure that combs, brushes, and other hair tools are not shared between children. Using the same comb or brush on multiple children can contribute to the spread of lice and other hygiene concerns.
- BONUS POINTS
- First one to tell me what rule 2.223 A.1 is in Colorado Childcare Licensing Rules and Regulations.

Monthly Updates:
- Name-to Face and Transitions
-
It is very important that we are conducting name-to-face checks correctly at all times.
You should complete a name-to-face at the following times:
- As soon as you are lined up in the classroom and preparing to head outside
- When you reach the front door
- Once you are inside the silver fence
- Then a transition when you are in the outside play area
When coming back inside:
- While lined up outside to come in
- At the top of the silver gate
- Once everyone is inside by the front door
Finally, you will conduct a transition as soon as you return to the classroom.
Please ensure these steps are followed consistently to maintain safety and accountability for all students.
-
- Summer dress code
-
Please make sure you are following the dress code:
- Dresses must be ¾ length or full length, with shorts worn underneath
- Shorts must be no shorter than 2 inches above the knee

“Gatorade… H2O… Gatorade… H2O!” 💧
Extra 5 points to the first 3 teachers who can name that movie! -
As we approach the warmer months, hydration is extremely important. Please make sure that you, as adults, are also staying properly hydrated throughout the day.
-
- Time-Off Requests
- There will be a calendar in the office for all time-off requests and schedule changes. Please check the calendar before booking any trips or requesting time off.
- Please keep in mind
- We can only allow 2 people off per day
- Those 2 people cannot be from the same classroom
- All requests must still be submitted through ADP.
- This system will help us stay organized, reduce denied requests, and ensure everyone has the opportunity to take time off at appropriate times.
- If there is an emergency and there are already two people scheduled off that day, please come speak with Miss Alyscia directly.
- Outside Expectations
-
Outdoor play is the highest-risk time for injuries, so active supervision is essential at all times.
- Teacher must maintain constant visual attention on the children in their care.
- It is NOT acceptable to stand by the fence or engage in conversations with other teachers or children from different classrooms while you are responsible for your own group.
- Your full attention must remain on the children under your direct supervision.
- Teachers should be strategically spaced throughout the playground to minimize blind spots. Do not cluster in one area—ensure all sides of the playground are covered.
- If you are supervising alone, you are expected to actively move around the playground to maintain visibility of all children.
-
-
